I know it’s really late for gift guides and all that, but maybe not. I mean, I’m pretty sure my husband hasn’t bought me anything yet.
So I thought I’d share some of my absolute favorite things with you all, in case you’re looking for some last minute gift ideas for yourself or someone else.

Because I’m a Priss
Smashbox Brow Tech – I can have trucker hair, furry legs, and spit up on my shirt, but if I have a clean, moisturized face and groomed eyebrows, I feel somewhat put together. I’ve worn this stuff every day for the last 4 years. It is my absolute favorite thing in my makeup bag.
Murad Skin Perfecting Primer – I got this at Blogher this year, and I love it as a light foundation. I put this on and top with some pressed powder (and my Brow Tech, of course), and I’m ready for school drop off.
Mama Mio– I’ve had the opportunity to do some local brand rep work for Mama Mio and I am in love with their stuff. Their products are free of all “nasties” and smell amazing. Their “Lucky Legs” lotion feels great, especially after a long day chasing children. I used their OMega Super Rich Body Cream as a moisturizer for my face, and this bottle lasts FOREVER.
Mac Lipglass- I’m not much of a lipstick gal, but I love me a good gloss. Mac Lipglass has been my absolute fave since college. I love it in Nymphette.
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Touchable hairspray – A product of Texas, I’m a believer in the can of hairspray, but I can do without the sticky stiffness of the old school stuff. Soy Touchable, which I got at Blogher, is different. It holds back my fly-aways and helps me give some extra fullness to my hair, but it just doesn’t… feel like hairspray.
Vigoss Jeans from Nordstrom Rack – I thought I was destined to a life of ho-hum jeans since I really can’t bring myself to shell out $200 on a pair. Then my friend told me about the “cheap” jeans at Nordstrom Rack, which is basically Nordstrom’s outlet store. Every pair of Vigoss jeans I tried on looked awesome on my butt, was long enough for my lanky legs, and I’d say they run big since I fit in a size I haven’t worn since high school (vanity sizing, FTW!). The best part? TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS.
Yummie Tummie Tank & Leggings- Last year at Blogher I was introduced to Yummie Tummie and I’ve been a believer ever since. This year, I’ve loved rocking my leggings, my nursing tank, and I just added a lace tank top to my collection, which looks great under a long cardigan, paired with my skinny Vigoss jeans. These are definitely a splurge, but keep an eye on sales and sites like Zulily for great deals.

Wine Soiree – Another awesome gift from a Blogher party (thanks Romy!). This thing makes the cheapest bottle of wine taste amazing. And since I’m all for stocking up on the cheap stuff, I can really appreciate it’s powers.
Mr. Coffee Keurig – I’ve been wanting a Keurig for so, so long. I just couldn’t ever justify the cost since we have a perfectly fine coffee maker- a very nice one, in fact. Well, this was on sale at our grocery store, of all places, for only $60 last week. Merry Christmas to me! I’ve only had it a week and I could French kiss it. If anything, I can use it to make myself some coffee so I’m awake enough to use the fancy coffee machine to make more coffee. It’s very basic, but does exactly what I need it to do- make me one cup of coffee with minimal effort on my part.
Because My New Obsession Is Photography
Pixelmator– I got this photo editing software for Mac last Christmas on Cyber Monday for super cheap. I had planned on getting Photoshop Elements, but for only $12, I figured I’d give this editing software a try first. It’s very similar to Photoshop in that it uses layers and brushes. I’m able to do basic things like smoothing out skin blemishes and cloning backgrounds. You can get the old version (the version I have) for $15 on Amazon. Since I have Lightroom 3 now, I have no plans of getting Photoshop or PSE anytime soon, especially since Pixelmator seems to do all the basic functions I need outside of Lightroom.

Clickin Moms Film Art presets for Lightroom- These were an early Christmas gift to myself. They’re my first set of presets, and I love what they do to my pictures. They won’t make a terrible picture look perfect. I still need to work on my own clean edits in Lightroom first, but they are lovely, subtle changes to already good pictures.
Clickin Moms membership– Over the last couple years I’ve developed an aversion to online forums. (A few internet friends and I like to attribute this to “Post Traumatic Nest Syndrome”… many of you will totally relate and understand that.) So I was hesitant to sign up for another “mom” message board. Clickin Moms, however, has been nothing but incredibly insightful, educational, and supportive. It’s 95% photography talk, but in a language I understand and am not intimidated by. There are tutorials for weeks. I’ve been teaching myself Lightroom simply by reading through all the Lightroom tutorials. Half the time, I’m reading threads from my phone in bed with the help of their super simple to use iPhone app (.99 in the app store). It’s where I got the ideas and inspiration for our Christmas Twinkle Light pictures.

Still exploring my NikonD5100 after taking a few advanced classes. I absolutely love it. Fingers crossed, I’m getting LightRoom for Christmas, and I’m saving my pennies for an additional flash.

I’ve had my Rebel T2i for over a year (was a lovely, unexpected gift from hubby for supporting him through a longer-than-expected basic training due to an injury) and am ashamed to say I still barely know what I’m doing. I have a 10 month old and rather than allow me to spend big bucks on newborn photography, my husband went out and bought an expensive camera. I can’t tell you anything about it other than when photography people see it they drool and make jokes about stealing it. That being said, his photos are amazing but he works 14 hour days for the most part. I think my photos are better composed sometimes and I just wish I had the processing capabilities to make them as good as his.
I took photography classes years ago and would like to ‘re-discover’ it again. I already have a DSLR camera.
I love photography. I started out taking photos of my husbands rugby games and have been paid to do that, but I am starting to venture into portraits and lifestyle photography…my 3 week old daughter is my inspiration and it is a huge change from sweaty rugby dudes!

Ive had an SLR for a few years and every once in awhile I take a great picture but I have no idea how it happens and no idea what to do with the other 500 pics of my kids with their flash reflecting faces!!! I love the idea that it’s not intimidating tutorials too…I tend to be easily distracted when reading technical information demonstrated by my inability to work my phone, sewing machine, and kindle to their fullest potential!

I am just starting to get into photography. I bought a Canon Rebel T3i a few weeks ago and am LOVING the pics that I can take with it. I have only been using the auto modes but it would be so great to learn how work with the other settings. I actually minored in Photography at PSU (grad. ’91). Back then it was all about fumbling around in a broom closet to open the film canister with a can opener on a string, making contact prints from negatives, pushing the prints around in the developer until the images magically appeared, then drying them on a ginormous hot roller drum. Fast-forward to ’07 when my twins were born and I bought a brand new digital camera with which to document our brand new life. And as far as I’m concerned, I’m not half-bad at taking the pictures, but my editing bites the big one. And that’s where I’m at. 😉

great giveaway – so…we got a Nicon D40 when C was born (almost 3 years ago now). We have a good cameri, but I have NO CLUE how to make it work like it should. We end up shooting everything in auto-mode with our crazy huge, nice flash. I wish I could say I’m not a beginner, but pretty much am. No time for a class, so something I can read up on my own time is the only thing that will work.

I am a total photography beginner! My husband and I are getting a Cannon t3i for each other for Christmas so I need all the help I can get to get my skills up to snuff and justify the expense!

I am definitely a beginner at photography. I want to take picutres of my daughter growing up and of my next pregnancy. I am slowly learning and enjoying every minute of it.
I’d call myself a hobbyist. I love to take pictures, but sometimes I lose motivation and focus. My goal for next year is to pick the camera up every single day.

I like to think of myself as an Advanced Beginner with photography. I took a few photography classes in college (before digital cameras were the norm because I’m old apparently). Theoretically, I can develop pictures in a dark room if needed. I have an digital SLR camera now, a Nikon D3100. I don’t have Photoshop or any other editing program. I kinda like the pictures in their natural form but that may be because I’m too cheap and/or lazy to edit them.

I’ve always been into photography as a hobby, but recently became the proud recipient of the Canon Rebel T2i (and it’s still in the stages of freaking me out a little!). I would LOVE to be able to take my photography farther than ever before, and want you to know your Christmas twinkle light pics inspired me to try some for myself!

I’m a beginner right now. I worked as an advisor for Art majors and my boss knew that I have a deep interest in photography, so he gave me his Nikon DSLR 2 years ago. I haven’t had time to take classes now that I have an almost 3 month old daughter, but it is something I’d love to do so I can capture priceless memories.
I am such a beginner although I’ve had my Nikon for over a year now. (SAD.) The language intimidates me and after reading for a few minutes about aperture and f-stops, I start zoning out and trying to remember if I ever learned anything by osmosis during college…

I’m knowledgeable with manual settings, but I mostly use them when the auto settings won’t get the job done (usually with low light situations). Finally upgrade this month to a canon rebel and some lenses and a polarizing filter, so I’m really looking forward to expanding my photography skills. I also have photoshop elements 9 and love using it to manipulate my photos! The Clickin Moms gift pack would be AMAZING!

Oh, I love your gift guide and I would absolutely LOOOOOOVE to win! I have got a new camera about six months ago and, like you, have fallen in love with photography. It’s definitely an obsession. I would say I’m middle of the road- I’ve had my camera for 2.5 years and have a small on the side business with my sister. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get a nikon 70-200 2.8 lens.. or an 85mm 1.4G… oh man, those in my stocking would be simply amazing 😉

I was a working reporter and photographer, having a baby messed up keeping in touch because I found it so hard to wrangleca toddler and my fear out and about. Trying to get back into it now!

I think I am an advanced beginner at least I turn the camera off of auto about half of the time.

I’m probably intermediate– still have a lot to learn, but comfortable with my percentage of “keepers” and using manual settings/speedlight, strobes, etc.

I would love to have this, I have just started my blog and am getting a new camera for x-mas. I have had point and shoot’s and and SLR but always use the auto button becuase I don’t know what all those other things do. I tried taking a photography class in college but it was to dry and technical for me so I would love to hear it in laymans language.

I took waaaaaaaay more pictures when I was on maternity leave last year–I’ve been on hiatus since I’ve been back at work. I could use a kickstart again.
We have an old (ha! 5 years old) Canon DSL that is sitting in a case collecting dust. I am a huge believer in “the best camera is the one you have with you” so in most cases, this means my phone. Luckily, I upgraded to the iPhone 4S, so I have as many megapixels (8) as I did with the Canon.
My favorite pictures are the impromptu ones, & the ones taken from interesting/uncommon angles. The silly face ones aren’t bad, either 🙂

I would so love to be a part of the Clickin Moms website. I took photography classes in high school and college. But nowadays, aside from the occational pro-bono friend’s wedding, I mostly take pictures of my kids. I love my kids, but they’re not winning me any Pulizers. I need some inspiration to get back out there and take crazy pictures of sunsets and wild flowers and then some advice on how to get better. Thanks for the chance to win. I have a DSLR and it is a waste on me. I took a class and dropped out. I blame Allie since I was like 2 months pregnant and completely exhausted and miserable. Basically I need to learn to use my fancy camera so it’ll stop sitting on the shelf.
