Leyna was born in the middle of winter; and while it was balmy, nearly warm the day we brought her home, within weeks, we were trapped inside our house, held hostage by an ice storm.
There were a few weeks of spring that we got out, but she was still so young then. I’m not sure she really enjoyed it, and we didn’t go any place too notable.
Summer was hell. Hell.
We lived in our house for 3 months. And even when we did get out, we didn’t go many places that I felt like lugging my camera with me and making her pose for pictures.
If you go through my photo library on my laptop (because, like the awesome mother I am, that’s where all her pictures live, and not in any sort of book or album), you’d think Leyna never leaves the house… or she does, but she just goes to other people’s homes.
This weekend, 2 days out from Halloween, on a Saturday, when it was sure to be PACKED, I forced everyone to go to the pumpkin patch. Sure, Kendall would have fun and family memories and BLAH BLAH.
Really? We needed some pictures of this girl doing something other than living in our house.
I present to you, our 10 MONTH OLD enjoying the pumpkin patch for the first time, along with her brother.
VICTORIOUS!
This happens to be the same pumpkin patch (Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch) that we took Kendall to his first Halloween.
As you can see, he was thrilled. I think it’s safe to say he had much more fun this time around.
Kendall is 3.5 years old and Leyna is 10 months old. Bring on the holiday picture fun!

We LOOOVE the Flower Mound pumpkin patch – def the best around Dallas/Ft Worth. They serve Fletchers corn-dogs – it does not get better than that.
Kendall came home with a corn-dog craft from school last week, in celebration of the State Fair. We Texans sure do take our hot dogs on a stick seriously!
Oh my goodness Jill! They are beyond adorable! And it looks like you had a wonderful time. 🙂
Thank you! We did.
We were there yesterday too! It wasn’t nearly as crowded as I thought it would be, but we got there pretty early, too. Great pics!
Thanks! We actually got there around 5:30. There were still a lot of people there, but it wasn’t unmanageable. I think a lot had left at that point for dinner. And it was perfect lighting for pictures.
I’m going to have to check out this pumpkin patch one year. Looks like y’all had a blast! Cute pictures 🙂
Thanks! In every circle of moms that I’m a part of in this town, this pumpkin patch is always the one everyone raves about. You should go!
Love it!
And that little “my 1st pumpkin patch” thing is too cute!
I love the photos and i’m happy she got to go out LOL! Sounds like my daughter, who turned 10 months old today. We didn’t go out much the first few months of her life because, hey, she’s a newborn and then it got cold. I live in Texas and the months of April – September were varying degrees of hell and we still didn’t go out much. FINALLY it’s nice weather out and I got some outdoor pictures of her at the beginning of the month. I’m glad your two enjoyed the pumpkin patch and the pictures are great!
That first picture kills me with the cuteness!! I wanna squeeze those cheeks!!
Adorable pictures. Also, you might also consider other pumpkin patches. How about Texas Pumpkin Fest for this November?
