It’s Art! For the Tots! A ModTots Giveaway!

Hard to have a case of the Mondays when I get to post this lovely giveaway for you all from my  friends at ModTots. If their work seems familiar to you, it’s because ModTots is the newest branch of Modern Bird Studios, offering the hippest, happiest, coolest ART for the younger crowd. This ain’t your granny’s cross stitch, folks.

These two robots now grace the wall next to Kendall’s bedroom door, overlooking his planet mural and his rocket ship tent. I love his room. It’s perfect for a little boy’s imagination, and now he gets two robot friends to talk to. Last night I had to tell them goodnight and turn them off. “BeBoop,” I said as I pushed each one’s imaginary button.

There are three lines of ModTots art so far; Animals, Robots and Monsters. Dinosaurs are also coming soon. They start at 6×6″ (that’s the size our robots are), and you can choose from about 20 colors to customize the background.

Each ModTots design starts as an original illustration by artist, Gregg Deal, and is created with a combination of digital, hand, and painting processes on an Oak composite.  Each piece is handmade, one at a time, with love and consideration going into every one.

Another fun thing to note is the first person to buy each animal, robot, monster, etc. gets naming rights and the fun of coming up with a few sentences to describe them. If you have a blog, they’ll even link back to you on the description page (like the fox my friend BethAnne got to name). How cool is that?

ModTots just launched at the beginning of 2011, and already they’ve been featured on Babble and ohdeedoh. These pieces will be popping up in all the coolest kid’s rooms, playrooms and nurseries before you know it, and you can be one of the first to bring them into your home (what a trendsetter you will be). The winner of this giveaway gets $100 credit for any ModTots piece(s)!

Tell me which piece is your favorite and why. Do you have a personal, deep connection with raccoons? Do you lovingly refer to your toddler as a monster?

We’ve been calling our daughter Monster since she was 6 months old…and she’s been answering to it for just as long. Fun party trick…since she was about a year old, whenever we ask “Who’s the Monster?” She raises her and and yells “ME ME Rylee!” So, yea, we’d totes go for a Monster!!

I think the sole reason I haven’t ordered anything yet since discovering ModTots is that I can’t decide which is my fave! The Panda and Hippo would be big faves with my 3 yr. old, but so would any of the robots or the furry blue monster! I think my 1 yr. old would like the monsters because they’re so colorful and happy-looking. 🙂 So hard to decide!!!

i am so in love with the robots. my husband collects robots so he is very happy we are expecting a boy who can share in his robot obsession. we put a bunch of quirky robot items on our registry and they were some of the first items to be purchased since everyone knows how much we love ’em. these would go great in the nursery that i’m planning for our june arrival!

During my son’s toddler meltdowns I talk and dance like a robot.I become “robot mommy”. He loves it, and the tears and screams turn into laughter. Plus it keeps me from getting upset. If I’m acting like a fool I feel better.

Well it’s hard to choose just one! My 3 yr old’s nickname since birth is “chicken”… so I love the chick. #2 is due to arrive in august and we’ve been referring to it as “ducky”… so the duckling would be a good choice. Off course there’s the boys fascination with all vthings robot. Hence my blog title “Chasing Bad Robots”. So I’m gonna have a hard time choosing!

I love, love, love these! I’d go for one of the monsters, for sure. My son has hand-painted monsters from a friend of mine on his wall, then monster stuffies and a storage bag from another friend. All unique and fun monsters.

I can’t pick a favorite. I love the monsters and the animals. We lovingly referred to DD as our “Little Monster” while I was pregnant because I was due just after Halloween.
Now we call her little monster or t-bird.

I LOVE the robots, especially Jackhammer Robot. My 3 yr old is a huge fan, for some reason he gets a huge kick out of the fact that both his name and “robot” start with R!
