Love Me A Good Deal, Don’t You?

As a one income family, we have a limited budget to work with, that should come as no surprise. I can’t stand to sit around the house all week, though, and I think I’ve made it clear that I suck at coming up with fun activities to entertain my rambunctious toddler on my own. So whenever a great deal comes around that gives us something to do, either as a family on the weekends or just a mommy and me weekday playdate, for cheap, I take advantage.

I’ve been working with the folks over at The Savvy Source on their Savvy Savings and Scholarship program for a couple months now, helping them come up with fun activities to offer DFW families at a discount. I’m really looking forward to the launch in Dallas next week.  But these deals aren’t just for Dallas area families. They’ve launched in many other cities already, and have more planned (over 20 in total, for a complete list, go here). For those familiar with Groupon, it works very much in the same way, but these deals are all for family friendly and fun activities and events.

Some examples of deals offered this week include:

Philadelphia- Admission for 4 to the Adventure Aquarium for $44
San Francisco Bay Area- 5 pack of tickets to the Bay Area Discovery Museum for $25
Seattle- Family Fun Membership to Imagine Children’s Museum for $38

Beyond the up to 90% savings you’re getting with these great deals, you’re also helping fund scholarships that send children to preschool, with 5% of every purchase going to this scholarship fund. AND you also have the opportunity to earn “savvy dollars” by referring friends. Each time a friend of yours signs up and makes their first purchase, you’ll receive $5 to use toward a Savvy Savings offer.

The first thing you need to do to gain access to these awesome deals and to begin to invite your friends is to sign up. You can do so by visiting my affiliate link here. Yes, I stand to make money off of this, which I will in turn spend on Savvy Savings offers of my own so that I can continue to take my toilet training toddler out in public while grossly pregnant, thus coming back with a plethora of entertaining stories to share with you all. It’s win, win. So please, if you are interested in hearing about these weekly deals, take a minute to sign up for their emails.

Hope you snag some great deals!

  1. Awesome! Hopefully there will be some good deals for the slightly older kids… we’re always trying to find new things to do with our 8-year-old niece. 🙂

  2. Just signed up with your referral link. Hopefully they will have deals in Austin soon. Love your blog. We have a 2.5 year old and my wife is expecting (due Nov. 14) so I can relate to a lot of what you are writing about. I look forward to reading more posts.
