(I’ve decided to ditch the blue “memo” with fun handwriting font as it’s an extremely huge pain in my ass, and a pain in the ass to read, too, I’m afraid.)
Dear Kendall,
Mother’s day was PERFECT. Thank you for collaborating with daddy and hooking me up with some sweet loot. And, most of all, thank you for saving your very first bath tub poop explosion for the first bath daddy gave you after his week long business trip! Your timing was IMPECCABLE. High Five, little man! Daddy told me that was his favorite present ever, and since he loved it so much, I wanted to make sure you know that it is okay with me if you save up all your bath time poops for daddy. I promise I won’t be hurt. You can make it up to me with slobbery kisses.
Love,
Mommy
Kendall is 1 year 1 week and 1 day old
Congrats to Carolyn Potts! She’s this weeks random winner with this memo:
Dear Lulu
Thank you for being such a good girl while we were camping, but I was very tired when we got home, and really want a good nights sleep.
So i wasn’t as excited as you where to be up at 12:56am, 1:34am, 1:51am. 2:47am and 4:20am this morning.
Let’s not play this game again, I don’t like it.
Love Mummy

Dear Stinks,
Thank you for growing so big and strong in my belly. You may have overdone it slightly, what with the 4th degree tear requiring today’s reconstructive procedure, but you’re worth it.
Let’s hope they give Mommy the good drugs.
With trepidation,

Brock,
Sweet baby boy. I know you are cutting four to five teeth at once. And I know it must hurt your little gums. But, do you have to cry every.second.of.everyday?? When you are not crying you are whining, and when you are not whining you are grunting out of frustration.
I love you little man, and I refuse to OD you on tylenol or motrin, so if you could calm down for like ONE hour a day that would be fantastic.
Mommy
Sweetest J-
Thank you so much for the *closed mouth* little kiss yesterday. It was really the best Mother’s Day present you could have given me. Keep up the good work, little man!
Love
Mama
Dear Booger,
Mama is so very impressed by your speed and agility. However, diaper changes are not the time to demonstrate your lightning fast flips. Please remain on your back while mommy is trying to put a new diaper on and then you can roll over to your heart’s content on the floor.
Love you,
Mama
Dear Mason,
Thank you so much for the wonderful memories that we made at the zoo yesterday, but next you should try taking a nap when we get home. Your 30 minutes in the car didn’t help mommy out at all!!!
Love,
Mommy
Dear Caroline,
Please don’t squirm so much while Mama is changing your diapers. Even after agressive hand washing I still ended up with poop under my fingernail this morning! AND I didn’t notice until I was driving to work. Yuck! TIA.
Love, Mama
Dear Bo,
Thank you for the awesome Mother’s Day yesterday. I loved the card, hibiscus plant, flowers and my evening away scrapbooking.
Love ya bunches!
Mommy
P.S. I think you are going to have to work on your father’s card skills. The generic Mother’s Day card he found left over from last year wasn’t exactly the warmest, heartfelt greeting. Oh well. We both know daddy is frugal.
Dear James,
Thank you for being the sweetest most cuddly baby a mommy could ask for. Tonight do you think you could go to bed on time so that mommy may have some time to relax before falling into bed.
Thank you sweetie!
Dear Amelia,
Since yesterday was my first Mommy’s Day, I had no idea what to expect. I had no idea that our brunch plans would be canceled, that you would break my new necklace, or sneeze every 2 minutes for 12 hours, throw up alien-like mucus balls, and that my only wish of sleeping in would be replaced by sleeping for 2 hours in a 24 hour period. Thanks for keeping it real and reminding me that though it’s called Mother’s Day–an indication that Moms are to be celebrated–that the work continues.
I am glad you’re better . . . but will continue holding it against you in the years to come.
Love, Mama
Dear Cade,
Thank you for picking me to be your mama! I love you and all your cuteness….
Love Mama

Re: Hurrying
It became very clear to Mommy yesterday that you are in a big, fat hurry to grow up. You were kicking your little legs and voicing your complaints quite clearly when Aunt Dani would not put you down to play with your cousin, AJ. As much as I sometimes wish you could be just a tiny bit more independent, it breaks my heart that you are striving to do just that. Relax, little man. Give it some time and take it all in – you only get to be the baby for so long.
Thanks in advance for your cooperaration.
Dear Vincent and Anthony,
The two of you made me feel so special yesterday, on Mother’s Day. I wish every day was just like that! But I gotta be honest, I suspect that Daddy had a hand in making the weekend really wonderful, and with Father’s Day coming up next month I’m feeling a little panicked. So I need you boys to put your heads together with mine and come up with something super special for Daddy. I hope you have some good ideas, because Mommy pretty much stinks at this stuff. Also…V…would you mind NOT peeing all over the back of the toilet? And A…could you stop trying to jump off everything in sight? I’d like to avoid stitches and broken bones as much as possible. Thanks boys!
Love,
Mommy
Dear Little E,
Please note that sleeping in on the days that mommy has to go to work and bring you to daycare and waking at 5:30 on the weekend is looked down upon by the management. Let’s try to improve on this by sleeping until at least 8 am this weekend!
Love you!

Dear Baby Sister,
Thank you for learning how to give kisses and slobbering them all over me on a regular basis. I love the fact that every morning you snuggle right into me and even make room for daddy to lie down with us whenever he is still at home. Thank you for smiling the biggest smile when your brother walks into the room. But mostly thank you for being you.
Love,
Mommy
