He’s not my boo!!

by Jill May 6, 2008
May 6, 2008

Okay…this will be ridiculously short, especially considering all I’m itching to write about.  I just don’t have the time or energy right now, but I promise I’m going to really give it a good try by the end of the week to get my full birth story up.  For now, I will just update you all by saying that I had the baby!  Kendall Milam was born on May 2nd at 12:47 am after 20 hours of labor.  He was 8 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches long.  The birth was completely med-free. It was awesome, rewarding, hard, painful, and it tore me up and kicked my ass.  I wouldn’t change a thing about it.  Me and my vagina are still recovering and my breastmilk is flowing in as I type this.  My little wolverine did a number on my left nipple in the hospital, but thanks to some lovely steroid cream, it should be up and functioning again by tomorrow.

Here are a few pics of the little guy… well, he’s not so little really.  I couldn’t believe how something so big could come out of me… but I guess that explains the carnage down below.  Anyway, he’s absolutely precious with the sweetest chubby cheeks.  I’m in love, love, love.

I would love to type more but this balled up comforter isn’t enough to soothe the pain of sitting on this hard chair any longer.  I’m off to feed my little monster!  Thanks for all the well wishes and good thoughts!  Stay tuned for my full birth story…

So gorgeous!!!!

The crotch pain gets better every day. I was in misery at first (3rd degree tearing) but didn’t need pain meds by the end of week 1.

the breast feeding feels a LOT better after your milk comes in, so you should get some relief there. If Kendal cooperates. I spend a lot of time wrestling with Ella – she tries to help unfortunately.

Congratulations!!!!
