Little miss Leyna, baking up some love and smiles at our fun at-home Valentines photo shoot this morning. The new office we built (pics to come!) is the most amazing little natural light studio space. I’ll show off more of the pictures from the shoot next week, but I adore this dress from Tea Collection that she’s rocking here and wanted to share it now. Also? Look at her all standing up and stuff. And yes, that is a very big bow on her head, and I like it that way.

That little nugget of niftiness is a Blurb photo book, made entirely from my Spring/Summer 2011 Instagram pictures, taken on my iPhone.

Do you Instagram? If you have an iPhone, you should. It’s so easy to take fun shots of your day with your phone and edit them with really cool filters. Plus, it’s FREE! (I think it’s only an iPhone thing, though. Corrected! It’s an iPhone AND iPod Touch thing.)

Blurb has partnered with Instagram to make it *super* simple to link up to your Instagram account and create a book that will take all your Instagram pictures off your phone and put them on paper. It seriously took me about 40 minutes to put the whole thing together. Momma likes!

Books are printed in 7×7 format, and prices for a soft-cover, 20 page book start at just $10.95! (Though mine, shown here, was valued closer to $40 since it’s hard-cover and more pages.)

This comes as no surprise to my husband. It’s a running joke around here that I will leave a bag packed until it just naturally unpacks itself over time, or until he gets so annoyed with it that he does the job himself. I think it was one of those unspoken wedding vows. “Love, honor, cherish (and live with her packed luggage).”

Seeing as how our 5 year wedding anniversary is coming up next month (OMG, I know!), I’m trying to do little things around the house that show just how much I care. I love those little ruffles that stick out the back and around the legs! Turns out they’re pretty good at keeping messes in. Not a single blowout or leak in this diaper. Not one.

The inside of the diaper is super soft, lined with micro-fleece. The outer shell is extremely flexible and soft, too. In fact, I’ll admit that, at first touch, the diaper seemed a little… flimsy. As I mentioned before, though, it’s done a super job, has been really durable, and I actually love how thin and light it feels now.

A unique feature of the AppleCheeks pocket diaper is there is no need to unstuff! Really. I swear. I’ve never once taken it out of the dryer and found an insert crumpled down in one end, not clean or dry. I’m a little spoiled by it.

The only downside, for me, about AppleCheeks is they aren’t one-size-fits-all. There are 2 sizes. Size one fits up to 20 lbs, size 2 fits 18-40. Leyna was actually busting out of her size 1 by the time she was 3 months old. BUT, let’s all remember, she’s a beast. 99% of babies will not grow out of size 1 that fast.

And, as with all her cloth diapers, even the largest size is getting a little snug due to her massive leg chub. The good news is they sell these waist extenders, which add an additional 2 inches of wiggle room. While I’m really hoping we won’t need them until she’s much older, it’s nice to know we have that option to extend the diaper life a little longer for big kids.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I’m in love and see a serious addiction in my future- to Picaboo photo books. Good golly, this is the nicest photo book I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing my pictures printed in. Yes, this was/is a sponsored review, but I’m 100% positive I’d feel the very same way if it wasn’t.

Let me break it down for you like this. The picture quality is fantastic. The colors are spot on. The full bleed pages are amazing.

The paper is substantial. The lay-flat pages really do lay flat, a little feature I didn’t even realize I’d like so much until I saw it in person.

From the glistening, gorgeous photo on the front, to the soft leather wrapped around a very thick cover, the book is luxurious. That’s really the only word I can think to describe it.

As I mentioned in my first post, the book came together fairly easily with their software. I am blown away by the finished product and so happy we finally have these pictures living somewhere other than my computer!

I wound up going with The Madison with 20 lay-flat pages, regularly priced $150. I will be the first to say that’s steep (to me) for a photo book. And while the quality totally justifies the cost of the book full price, I would be more likely to buy it with a discount. The good news is Picaboo is always offering great specials. The next time a coupon pops up that applies to this book, I will definitely think of printing another one with Kendall’s newborn pictures. I’m already pricing out and planning on FINALLY printing a book of our wedding pictures from almost 5 years ago.

And yet, it’s something I know many of us do, or at least intend to do before our new family additions turn 6 months old. I recall it being quite a headache after Kendall was born, but I was itching to share his picture and announcement with our circle of the world.

(I’m just going to admit, it’s possible *some* people got cards with bits of baby puke dried on them… possibly. We’ll just call them scratch and sniff announcements in FRESH! NEWBORN SMELL!)

This time around, it was much easier thanks to Hallmark.com. I was able to upload Leyna’s beautiful newborn pictures (taken by Jessica Marchetti Photography), customize an announcement, and order in less than 45 minutes.

I love that I was even able to add a bonus picture on the back!

Hallmark.com also offers the option of uploading your addresses from your computer’s address book to have the announcements sent directly to your recipients, but I will say that process was not easy for me, as a Mac user. It wasn’t a big deal, though, since I just stuffed the announcements in the envelope with our family New Years cards (because family holiday cards SOOOO weren’t happening last year).

The quality of the cards is great. The colors are vibrant and the paper is sturdy. And the prices are reasonable, too. The version I used above was only .99 a card since I ordered 80. Note that if you are having them mail the cards for you, you will obviously have to pay for postage. (However, right now they have a deal for free stamps on the cards they address for you until 6/19 with code FREESTAMPS)

Hallmark wants to give a $50 credit to one of you to use on Hallmark.com! All you have to do to enter is:
