Few sights are sweeter than a sleeping baby, and few things are sweeter than those that help a baby sleep.

I’m all for baby snuggles and mommy cuddles when I can, but sometimes I need to put the boy down. Our new favorite place to let him chill is in the 4moms rockaRoo. They sent it to me about a month ago, and Lowell has napped some serious naps in it since, including many under the lights of our Christmas tree.

We are fans of the 4moms lineup around here, including the mamaRoo. You might be thinking this is the same thing. I am here to tell you it’s not! In fact, I think we love this even more than the mamaRoo, which works well for our babies in the newborn stage, but they seem to outgrow/grow bored of by this age.

Lowell, at 5 months old, is entranced and in love with this thing. It consistently puts him to sleep without a fuss when I lay him down while drowsy.

Our babies tend to crave… how do I put this… a lot of motion. Like, it’s not enough to lay them on a bouncy seat with the vibrations on. They need to be physically BOUNCED, like a basketball almost, to be comforted.

The motions of this rockaRoo are far more pronounced than anything else we’ve tried.Β Now, that’s on level 5. There are lower levels that are less motion. So if your baby doesn’t crave an infant sized trampoline like mine do, you won’t be left out.

Basically, it rocks the baby like a rocking horse. The project’s Lead Engineer said,

We believe a rocking motion is more optimal than a swinging motion because it creates a greater sense of motion in a child’s inner ear, where motion is sensed, than a traditional swing.

It’s the wonderful, high-tech, luxury quality we expect from 4moms, but the price point is less than the mamaRoo. The classic gray seat is $159, and the plush seats (shown here) are $179. There’s still a cord to plug in an mp3 player that plays over the rockaRoo’s built in speakers, but it does not have built in white noise like the mamaRoo.

  1. I think it looks amazing, my son was never a fan of swings but I do agree that the rocking motion would be much more soothing!

  2. It looks like Lowell has plenty of space left!! Luke looks like a giant in his swing. I am terrified to pack it up even though he’s 6 months cuz I swear sometimes we need it. this is MUCH SMALLER and MUCH BETTER for our living arrangements!

  3. This looks awesome! My daughter hated the swing, but I hope this baby will enjoy a little time off of mama and maybe this would be the trick. It also looks compact enough for my space.

  4. I’ve used a MamaRoo for a baby that I nanny for and love it – but I can see how they can quickly grow out of it..nice to see there’s a next level to the awesomeness πŸ™‚

  5. Super cute! The rocking part makes way more sense than just swinging. My son HATED his swing, but I bet he would’ve LOVED the rocking in this one. Would have saved me from sleepless nights/days lol

  6. I would LOVE a mamaroo, I think it is totally better than a traditional swing! My first son lived in his swing, and so far our newest loves it too. This looks like it takes up a little less space too.

  7. Looks great! We have used the old bouncy chairs with vibration in the past but my kids have much preferred being held while they sleep. Tis would make things easier πŸ™‚

  8. We’re about 3 months out from number 2 and I am already terrified about how I’m going to handle this! My first could only sleep – naps or nighttime – after a ridiculous rocking, bouncing routine. I will try anything!

  9. Yes please! One in adult size would be nice! Neither of my babies slept well as infants, I’m not counting on the 3rd to do it either… This would be amazing! I’ve been dreaming of the mamaRoo, this would be even better.

  10. I think it looks like JUST the thing this new Mama of THREE needs! Your Lowell & my Gideon are, I think, about a month apart. My older two (both girls) are 5 & 3 and sometimes they need Mama too! Enter: the swing, or jumper, or bumbo. Gideon is no longer safe on the floor as he is scooting! Scooting & trying to crawl as if he is allowed to get bigger & grow & stuff. Love your blog!

  11. I think it looks amazing! Our little guy isn’t here yet, but I would LOVE a rockaroo for him.
And yes, an adult sized one, please!

  12. Expecting baby #2 in July and would love to win this! My daughter loved her bouncy but hated the swing and unfortunately quickly outgrew her bouncy so I’m sure this would be a life saver!

  13. Awesome giveaway! My first kiddo loved a LOT of motion, so I’m thinking this could come in very handy for future little ones.

  14. I personallybalso wish they made one in my size. My little guy loved his MamaRoo and our new baby would love this one just as much if not more!

  15. I need one of these and my 3 year old needs on too. This would be great for baby #2 due in March. Thanks for the chance to win.

  16. Wow!! This looks amazing! Does it work better than bringing the baby for a drive? Sometimes that’s the only thing that can get my baby to sleep!

  17. This looks way better than the mamaRoo which after asking many friends their babies preferred the papazan swings over. Totally going to look this new one up.

  18. I would love this! We have the mamaroo and I’m not a fan. Mostly because my kid isn’t. He also needs to bounced like a basketball. LOVE!

  19. I’m having my third baby in April and would love to win this! My kids don’t like a regular bouncer much either and our swing takes up so much room. Thanks for offering such a great giveaway!

  20. I think it is awesome! We’re expecting our second at the end of July, and I’m already dreading trying to get him or her asleep with a 2 and half year old in the house. My son HATED his swing, but LOVED being bounced on the bed. Hopefully, the Mamaroo will be loved by the second kiddo.

  21. 6 Months pregnant right now – My last baby didn’t sleep more than 20 minutes at a time for the first 3 months. It sounds like this could be the miracle worker that I need!

  22. would love to win! I’m having my third girl anytime in the next 6 weeks and I think my little one would love this if she’s anything like her sisters!

  23. I have done a ton of research and by far this rockaroo is best for its price and quality. We are expecting our 2nd child and our old swing broke we are a single income family and have limited space this rockaroo would be a blessing for our family thank you . Also I think it’s awesome you have options for padding given people live in different climates and being in the desert I think the thin padding would be best

  24. So invaluable. We had a swing and ours outgrew it FAR too quickly! These don’t look like they suck up half the living room space to use it either, major bonus!

  25. WOW!! This thing looks awesome!! My son was never impressed with the bouncer or swing, and I wnoder if this would have done the trick. Maybe #2 (due in June) would appreciate this πŸ™‚

  26. I love how comfy it looks! My daughter hates her bouncy seat but loves to be rocked or in the car… This looks like something she’s love!

  27. My baby won’t sleep in ANYTHING that doesn’t move. We are exhausted from holding him all the time. This would be Lifesaver for us!

  28. I am pregnant with my first baby and my friends who have a mamaroo love it! They have told me it is on their must have list! I would love to have one!

  29. This looks awesome, my little guy has recently decided he can only sleep if he’s being held, I might just have to get one of these to see if it can give me a break!

  30. I have a granddaughter coming at the end of March. She will be living with me. This would be perfect for her. I have a 7-year-old daughter loves to rock her 15- month cousin. Thanks for chance at this great giveaway!

  31. I think this looks AMAZING. My husband and I plan on starting to try for a baby very soon and it would be so exciting to win this.

  32. These look amazing. And with my first I had to wonder if it was really worth it… I guess I will have to look into it for #2.

  33. I think this new RockaRoo is the bees knees. My babes always loved the swing but I think this Rockaroo will def make having four kids, one being an infant, much easier to get things done πŸ™‚

  34. Would definitely love to try it out on the next baby we have. My daughter hsted her Fisher Price Sweet Peace swing. She would only nap in my arms.

  35. I love the way it looks and works, especially because it doesn’t operate like regular swings. The smaller size is another bonus.

  36. I think a rockaroo for adults would be an overwhleming HIT! I would even consider a fiance option. =) This would be so lovely to have for the baby too!

  37. it’s awesome..would love one for my baby..this is so cool,my friend got one for a baby shower gift and she said her baby loves it..i think this is so comforting to the baby and the mom because it gives her a break.

  38. WANT ONE SO BAD! Expecting baby number two, and I have been in LOVE with the 4mom products since my first was a newborn, but financially just can’t get any of them… Looks like a great product, and if it’s anything like the mamaroo I’m in!

  39. Our 2 month old does not like our current swing. I’m curious if he’ll like this type. It seems like this is just the type of motion he would like.

  40. looks so comfy! i’m sure this would be lovely for my boy due in April (especially while i have to chase a 2 1/2 year old around)

  41. I keep entering I hope to win i have a 15 weaker and I’m due in Aug ..just amazing I never got preggers with out help from docs and now this …well ok I like all of this stuff ur awesome

  42. I agree – I’d love one in adult size. I think the rockaroo is perfect because babies love the constant motion, which the rockaroo provides!

  43. I NEED this for my little bundle of joy! Due in june, i will need some place tto keep him/her happy while I get to spend time with my 2 year old! !

  44. I would love to have one of these! My daughter is super fussy in the evenings so it would be nice to have something to put her in and rest my arms. πŸ™‚

  45. I have loved the Mamaroo since I first saw it year ago. It would have greatly helped with my twin daughters. I definitely plan on having one some way for number 3. I do agree though an adult one would be pretty awesome. Sometimes it’s hard for us mommies to fall asleep with so much on the mind!

  46. The Rockaroo looks perfect for our first baby that is arriving in late February! The fact that it is compact as well as bright and appealing make it something we would love for our baby. Since our baby moves around a lot to Born to Run, we can’t wait to play the song and have the baby rocking in the Rockaroo πŸ™‚

  47. I want one of these SO BAD for my new lo on the way. My first ds loved to be bounced what we called “violently” while he napped and there was often whole naps that I had to spend captured on the couch while needing to pee but didn’t dare stop bouncing lest it wake the beast. πŸ™‚

  48. I registered for one, but didn’t receive one at my shower. It would be great to win one instead! Completely in love with the 4moms products.

  49. First saw them at Babies r us and have been eyeing them ever since then. I even put it on my registry but I don’t have family to buy me one and my friends can’t afford it so I’d really appreciate being able to win one!

  50. It looks so awesome and like my baby girl will enjoy every minute of rockin! I would def want an adult one myself πŸ™‚

  51. I was looking for a review for the Rockaroo. Im debating between Rockaroo or mamaroo!
Thank for this, sounds like a great product!

  52. I love the MamaRoo. It’s been a lifesaver for us after spending a bunch of time in the hospital with our baby girl, I am kicking myself that I bought a different swing for the same price. I’m intrigued about the Rockaroo!!

  53. “Like a basketball” is a perfect description of what my little one wants. And sometimes my back needs a break. πŸ˜‰

  54. The swing I used for my littles was hated by all 3, took up a lot of space and drove me nuts. This rocker looks compact, cozy and amazing. Would love one!

  55. I Love this…I have been looking for one of these at a decent price for my little one… She needs the big movements!

  56. I Love this…I have been looking for one of these at a decent price for my little one… She needs the big movements!

  58. I’d love one! I’ve been drooling over them for our March arrival ever since the release! And, yes, an adult version would be *awesome!*

  59. We are due 2/6 and we were looking into Fisher Price’s cradle and swing but now I really want this rockaroo instead. Pick me! I cant wait to tell my expecting mommy friends about this.

  60. With baby on its way and deployment coming this would be a lifesaver in my house. I have been having my eyes on one hoping to own it soon ??

  61. Oh my, my nephew really needs one of these! It might help my sister with him since he has horrible colic (I am sure all colic is horrible)

  62. This looks awesome! Have been trying to decide what to get for our baby who is arriving in April…this may be it!

  63. This looks awesome! Have been trying to decide what to get for our baby who is arriving in April…this may be it!

  64. This looks awesome! Have been trying to decide what to get for our baby who is arriving in April…this may be it!

  65. Definitely a product that makes me VERY happy I am just now having my first. Several of my friends are very jealous of all the great 4Moms stuff that is out now that their kids are toddlers and kindergarten age.

  66. It looks amazing! I’ve recently been doing research on all sorts of baby rockers, swings, etc, and this is the one I’ve been coming back to. Would love to win one!

  67. It looks amazing! I’ve recently been doing research on all sorts of baby rockers, swings, etc, and this is the one I’ve been coming back to. Would love to win one!

  68. I think it looks awesome for baby #2 in may.and can they makea toddler version for my 2yr old who still lives being rocked?

  69. Baby no.2 is on it’s wadi and how much would i love that for him!? We didn’t have one with our first and there were days when it would have been SO nice to have!

  70. I think it looks amazing! My sister has the MamaRoo and I love it, and think the motion for the rockaRoo look even better. Love!!!

  71. What an amazing thing! When I had my oldest the biggest thing you needed was a swing, and it was a BIG thing, took up soooo much room in your home. Now it looks as if a Rockaroo is all you need, and it takes up much less space.

  72. Eeek! I LOVE it! I’ve always been a little hesitant about the mamaRoo but am now dying to get a rockaRoo for our sweet baby girl on the way!

  73. Found out we have twin boys on the way at our 20 week ultrasound on Wednesday! Could really use one of these magic baby sleeping swings!! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the fun promotion!!

  74. I am hoping to win this for my 3 month old baby girl! She loves getting rocked to sleep and with this compact size I can move it around the house!

  75. Surprise baby number two is do in March; our second little boy!!! I love the design and that it moves a lot; so great for getting a few things done around the house or playing with my two year old!!!

  76. Would LOVE this for our little girl who will arrive around April 4th! Looks and sounds better than all the other swings/gliders on the market!

  77. Would LOVE this for our little girl who will arrive around April 4th! Looks and sounds better than all the other swings/gliders on the market!

  78. Would LOVE this for our little girl who will arrive around April 4th! Looks and sounds better than all the other swings/gliders on the market!

  79. These look like such a great product. I first saw them in a store window and wondered what it was so I looked it up online. I would love one for my little girl who is due in 40days!

  80. These look like such a great product. I first saw them in a store window and wondered what it was so I looked it up online. I would love one for my little girl who is due in 40days!

  81. These look like such a great product. I first saw them in a store window and wondered what it was so I looked it up online. I would love one for my little girl who is due in 40days!

  82. My husband desperately wanted one the first time and now he is on an endless campaign for one the second time since I work nights and he was so tired the first time

  83. We didn’t have a swing or bouncer for our baby, and I think it will probably be on my list for #2. This one is adorable, and the movement sounds great.

  84. I think it’s one if the most amazing things ever. I wish it came in adult size so that my baby ad I can rock together side by side.

  85. I would love to win this for baby # 2 due in May! I have heard such amazing things about this, and I think the new size is awesome!

  86. I could go for it in an adult size, too!! My sweet little babe needs constant stimulation– usually walking or swaying or bouncing on my legs or whatever-I’d love to have this for her so I could get a few things done- it might be just the stim she needs what with the increase in inner ear motion. You’re so right though- if only I could have one to match her then I wouldn’t mind not getting things done!

  87. It looks awesome! Could really use some help on that “falls asleep when drowsy when you put him down” for my baby #4 coming soon…. Not enough arms to go around sometimes!

  88. Oh…borrow for a short time from a friend….now I NEED one for the next baby. It is the best hands-free baby item out there!

  89. The first time I ever saw the classic mamaroo, I was mesmerized. And this rockaRoo just takes it to the next level. It would be so fun to have baby #2 be able to experience such an innovative line!

  90. I love the new Rockaroos! I love how they save space in small homes too! & that they double as a baby seat and rocker all in one!

  91. With another baby on the way and our only rocking swing being the giant variety that takes up a 3×3 area of living room real estate, I would do a completely embarrassing Sally O’Mally kick to win this rockaRoo. Thanks for the chance!

  92. I like the way it moves & that it’s compact. Your little boy looks so sweet in your pictures. Thanks for the giveaway!

  93. I love this! Both of my boys were bouncers as well, and when they’re ginormous babies, well, mama should be ripped at this point! I would be ecstatic to try this!

  94. Oh, look, a baby thing that isn’t hideous and works really well? YES PLEASE. I have #1 due in 7 weeks (AGHHH) and I need all the help I can get!

  95. From the looks of it, I am really digging that it doesn’t take up half the living room. Why must they make those things so big!

  96. This looks fantastic!! I too have babies that like to be treated like basketballs. This would be awesome for the newbie coming in July!

  97. We’re expecting #2 this summer, and if she’s anything like her big sister, she won’t want to be put down. This looks awesome!

  98. Personally, I agree with an adult sized one! LOL . I wish I would have known about 4moms products with my first baby, TTC baby #2 soon so would love one for him/her!

    FB: Jermaine N Amber Hawkins

  99. This would be so awesome in adult size! Haha! But beyond that, I’m glad someone figured out that not all babies don’t like to be jiggled.. .some have aspirations of being the next Tigger and therefore MUST be in constant motion (like CRAZY motion, not jiggling). This is so neat!

  100. My baby boy would love this thing. He always wants to be held and rocked and like you seriously need to put my son down a lot and this would be wonderful!!

  101. It’s been such a want of mine to own this! I love the rocking motion instead of the swinging kind! So so sooo want!!!

  102. I think they are awesome i love the new design of how they rock vs sway but really i love the rockaroo and the mamaroo so its really hard too choose between the 2!

  103. I want it! We have the mamaroo, but #1 seemed to prefer the more violent motion of a regular swing more, though the mamaroo certainly wasn’t bad

  104. I have been wanting one of these since they announced it. I kind of want one for me, too – it looks SO soothing. And with baby coming in August, it would be a godsend!

  105. I am a work at home Grandmother and this would be perfect for me to watch my Grandbaby and still be able to work.

  106. I am 12 weeks pregnant with my first and am really hoping to get a rockaroo!! I’ve heard awesome things about it and its more compact that a normal swing

  107. I’m definitely intrigued by the rockaRoo. I had been planning on buying a mamaRoo for baby #2, but now I’ll have to decide between the two models.

  108. Our friends got the mamaroo for their baby shower, and I was entranced with all the motions it did. I can only imagine how awesome this would be for a growing infant. Really need to get my hands on some 4moms gear for our little one due in April.

  109. I have a (secondhand) Mamaroo and my baby is a bit bored. #firstworldproblem – I’d like to try the more aggressive rocking motion of the Rockaroo.

  110. Would love to get this for my baby, especially because it’s baby #3. How can I bounce/rock her around when I have my two older tornadoes also needing attention. Would love this!

  111. I really would love to win this to try out with our baby due this summer!! it sounds amazing and so different from the mamaroo πŸ™‚

  112. I totally love the motion this one does! As this is our last babe, I’m trying to limit the amount of “baby things” we have, and this would certainly help that endeavor!!

  113. I’m expecting my second and have been eyeing these but we can’t afford it. If this baby wants to be rocked as much as my son did I’m going to need it!

  114. The new rockaRoo is amazing! I like that it is more compact than a regular swing and it has such unique rocking choices!

  115. I like the unconventional motion and the design. I have a traditional baby swing and HATE it, it’s huge and ugly. The baby isn’t much of a fan either, so I’d love to get one of these and see if she likes it. πŸ˜‰

  116. I was just looking at this at BRU the other day! It looks FANTASTIC! And probably the only baby gear I would need at this point.

  117. Just found out we are expecting our THIRD boy. So, you know, need a few new fun baby contraptions to make up for all the girl clothes I will NOT be buying πŸ™‚

  118. I would love this for my sister who’s expecting her first baby! My fb is T Michelle Trump and my instagram is tracietrump

  119. My daughter is in nicu at Devos Children’s hospital. They put her in one of these to calm her down. I have to have onedof these fabulous swings.

  120. I think it’s awesome! i like that it’s on the smaller side. Having an older Child and all their toys a smaller footprint is a great feature.

  121. What I love about this product, more than a full size swing, is the ability to move it fairly easily from room to room around the house.

  122. Awesome giveaway! My boy would love this and it would be great to let my expecting sister-in-law borrow too! Thank you!

  123. My DD is one that physically needs to be bounced to get to sleep, this would give mama a much needed break!!! lol!

  124. Oh! I have heard great things about this. We’re having our 3rd baby in September and it would definitely be awesome to have one.

  125. I want one! I think my 4 month old would love this thing, and I would not mind at all a few more moments to get things done with out a sweet baby in my arms!

  126. We are due with first 7-11-14 and couldn’t be more grateful. We’ve heard great things bout these, would love to win it!

  127. Looks like a great product. And yes, my first son LOVED to move all. the. time. Our next kid will probably be the same. Would love this for #2 on the way.

  128. Looks like a great product. And yes, my first son LOVED to move all. the. time. Our next kid will probably be the same. Would love this for #2 on the way.

  129. Looks like a great product. And yes, my first son LOVED to move all. the. time. Our next kid will probably be the same. Would love this for #2 on the way.

  130. Wow, we recently added the mamaroo to our registry for our first child because we liked the features and design more than the swings we saw. Definitely gonna have to check the rocker out now. Thanks!

  131. Oh man. I would LOVE to be able to put my third baby somewhere and have her sleep in it! She’s very much a movement-sleeping baby, thus she really only sleeps when I’m wearing her. This rocker sounds IDEAL.

  132. This sounds perfect for my son! My husband and I were laughing last night how I have perfected the bounce/rock/pat all at once motion to put him to sleep. When I have him in his carrier I’m constantly bouncing too.

  133. Have a little girl due in March with a toddler at home..I’ve heard nothing but great things about it and would love it for when she wants to sleep but also wants to move!

  134. Due with baby #2 in May and baby #1 was a crabby little bugger. Maybe this awesome seat could help prevent that and be a happier baby!

  135. That would be awesome because I’m really tired of bouncing my kid on the exercise ball for 30 minutes before bed time and all naps!
