When I started blogging 6 years ago, I never, ever, ever thought more than a handful of people would read it. And I never intended that handful to include anyone I know “in real life,” like my parents… and the parents of my future kids’ friends.
And yet, I still keep blogging about things like that time I had a cyst that looked like a testicle. Awkward.
It’s become something much bigger than I ever imagined, these rambling, run-on sentences that make up over-sharing posts about my every day life as a mother.
This week, I officially hit 20,000 likes on my Facebook page. To me, that’s HUGE. Beyond comprehension, actually. Especially since it took me nearly 5 years just to get to 10,000.
Oh, it’s a silly little thing to get excited about, I guess. But my Facebook community means so much to me. It’s where the majority of my conversations and interactions with readers happen. And, for the most part, it’s a really supportive, funny group of people.
So what I’m saying is, if you’re not already joining in on the conversations there, you should!
And if you are there already? THANK YOU! And this is for you.
Over the last few years, I’ve poured all the extra time I can into my love for photography, and I’ve shared a little of that journey here. No doubt, those of you who have been reading since the beginning have noticed a change in the quality of pictures I share.
One of the great photography-related businesses I’ve gotten to know as a result of this blog is SHUTTERbag, and the lovely Kim behind it here in the US. This is a small company with tremendous customer service. They make all-leather camera bags that are stylish and super functional in addition to being tough. I have two, and have been using a SHUTTERbag since February of this year. They both still look fantastic.
The Cabriolet is my new diaper bag/camera bag. It’s big enough to get my camera in, leaving enough room for a couple diapers, wipes, a light blanket, and a change of baby clothes.
This has been SO helpful when it comes to escaping the house with my kids AND my camera, allowing me to capture moments in places like New Orleans, the baseball field…
the pumpkin patch…
Even if you don’t have a fancy DSLR, I think you’ll love the quality and functionality of these bags.
So if you like Baby Rabies on Facebook, I’d like you to have the opportunity to win one of these! The winner will be able to choose from in-stock Cabriolet, Heirloom, and Safari bags. Kim will ship anywhere in the WORLD!
Follow the directions in the Rafflecopter widget below. The winner will be announced Sunday, November 24th. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
